I like the fact that Superbalist really cater for the plussize woman. All too often plussize clothing are outdated, frumpy and just not nice. We also struggle with trendy styles, things are nit true to size etc but Superbalist has really delivered 70% of the time so far. There is a lot they can improve on since the South African market has a lot of potential for plussize woman. Another BIG issue is finding boots for people with big calves. I have big calves and have to buy my boots from the UK cause NOWHERE in SA I can find them. Otherwise I have to take them to someone who then adds a piece of leather so they can fit me. I bought a pair from the Butterfly label (my fav because the shoes are always so comfortable) and they fit beautiful till I have to zip it closed. I have always been disappointed with knee hight boots in South Africa.

Delivery was late. Seems like it was only attended to once I contacted you guys to complain. Then I was told that one of my items was not available even though the app showed that it was. You guys sent me a 20% discount which was not much less than the discount I would have received on the dress and now the dress in my size is sold out. Very bad service. This has happened before and I've overlooked it but this problem doesn't seem to be addressed. I've also noticed other customers complaining about the same thing. So not impressed

Disgusting service and delivery of broken destroyed product.

Absolutely disgusted. My order arrived completely used and broken. When I concealed customer support their response was “ oh sorry for the inconvenience.” Sorry for the inconvenience?!? I got sent USED AND DESTROYED SHOES. No one to apologize or discuss how this happened called despite my requests. I have never experienced worse service. When something like this happens someone needs to figure out HOW AND WHY and then call the customer to EXPLAIN AND APOLOGIZE.

I purchase brown Nike airforce for R2400 and after a single wear the left one is looking like it already has cracks and the colour is now somehow different to the right one and now I am no longer feeling confident to wear them as people would think it’s not authentic. The sad part is I had already disposed the box the shoes came in, else I would have returned them. Please refer to the attached photos you will notice that the colour is no longer the same.

Depressingly low quality which is disrespectful to consumers, their health, and the environment.

Clothing and household items generally are are of appallingly low quality, terribly made, of poor materials and shoddy workmanship and will not last long- unless you are buying from a separate brand of higher quality that is on the site. They are not only purveyors of fast fashion, but 'fast furniture', where I've literally had a table from them explode (six months into use) because the materials and the way it has been put together is so careless and poor. I am honestly really depressed by the abysmal quality of most of the garments that I have received and seen others around me receive from Superbalist. Is this really the standard you think your consumers should be okay with? It's disrespectful. Their advertising and marketing supports this approach of endless lame consumption, where nothing is expected to last and because it's only for now and the next new thing is already more exciting, and if we're getting philosophical here- which we absolutely should- is directly supporting the trashing of our health (both mental and physical) and our home or environment. I do appreciate that they do try to support local and offer filters like 'conscious' (although often the filter produces results that make that term look disingenuous and expedient- more education and better products seems like an answer to this), and that I have only ever experienced good customer service from them and have been happy with a couple of purchases from their brand. Overall, I will support them because they are South African and do seem like they are making a real effort in some ways, but they have so far to go.

Ordered 9 days sooner than requested and nothing arrived!

I ordered my goods of which none said there would be any delays. I ordered them on the 11th of December. The app said all items need to be ordered by the 20th to arrive by the 24th. I’m writing this on the 26th still waiting for the presents I ordered that were supposed to be given yesterday. I was phoning and emailing all of last week. Asking to please escalate the delay and get the order to me by the 24th, when that wasn’t possible, I asked to deliver the 7 items that had been ready within a day or two of the order being made (15 days ago now) and to either cancel the delayed item or deliver it later so as to not ruin my Christmas shopping with them. I get told, it can’t be done. No staff member of Superbalist tried to do anything to even remotely help me. I just get told, you have to wait. I will never order from this company again. The customer service is shocking. Takealot have made plans for me to expedite and help me out in the past but this company clearly doesn’t need the business. I even ordered items on takealot on the 20th and received them on the 24th. Here I am 15 days after placing my Superbalist order waiting for it to come tomorrow. Very disappointing

I recently received damaged items from your store, a clear indication of a lapse in quality control. While I expected a swift and satisfactory resolution, the compensation provided – a 40% voucher – turned out to be a source of further frustration. Three weeks later, when attempting to redeem the voucher, I discovered that the code had already been used by another customer, rendering it useless. Bringing this matter to your attention only resulted in a replacement offer of a 25% off discount code – a downgrade from the initially promised compensation. This experience has been disappointing, to say the least. As a loyal customer, I anticipated a more responsible and customer-centric approach to resolving the issue. It's disheartening that after facing inconvenience due to your company's oversight, I had to endure additional hassles in the resolution process. I sincerely hope this feedback prompts a review of your customer service and compensation processes. As customers, we expect transparency, reliability, and fair resolution when issues arise. I trust that improvements will be made to prevent others from facing similar disappointments in the future.

Used sneakers

We recently spoke about the mishaps with my order. It was rather unfortunate to have experienced such poor service from Superbalist. - I attempted to buy a pair of white sneakers, which was delivered twice with the wrong size (37) - I tried a third time and received a pair of black boots. At that point I returned it for a refund and not exchange. The boots have since been collected, yet there's no refund in my wallet. - Yesterday I checked again, and a size UK6 was available and i bought it, although the refund was not in my wallet. The sneaker arrived yesterday, the right size. However they have been worn, clearly. I took pics for proof. How long must a shoe be worn for the interior to already be brown? At this stage this kind of service is just not acceptable. How can you send a customer used sneakers. Also I received a R350 on the previous two but this was full price. Why? I would really appreciate a call on this with a proper remedy and honestly nothing but a huge discount would make up for this massive service deficiency. Regards.

I just placed an order making use of your promos then my order got cancelled!!! I was told that there wasn't stock from supplier but there is plenty stock online still and I found it funny how all 3 item weren't in stock!! Then I received a message saying that u get stock from multiple suppliers so thats why it still shows u have stock. Well if thats the case why was my items cancelled. Its not my problem you run promos on certain suppliers items and not others!! I was told to reorder the item. But I find that to be cheeky as I ordered my goodies making use of the promo only to be refunded and told to order the same item with out a promo on them! Please also don't say the items where restocked as this all happened within a day or two! this is not the first time this has happened where I'm told the items have to be cancelled only for me to the purchase it again no problem a day or two later. I just find it shocking and dishonest. I make tones of purchases from you and this is not the type of service a customer should receive.

I am highly disappointed!!!!

I am highly disappointed in the way my order has been handled. Never have I recieved such shoddy service from Superbalist. 3 items were not recieved in my full order, and they sent me a duplicate of another item. Which i returned, and for SOME reason, they are sending me another one?? like WTF? but the items I'm looking for don't seem to be on the way or even a resolution being found. I get NO response from the customer service rep I emailed, and on a call with other agents, i just keep getting told it has been escalated. No one seems to want to take charge or be accountable for rectifying the issue. If this does not get resolved, i look forward to visiting your offices in person, because it is all to easy to hide away behind emails and a phone call. Explains why as a company your ratings are so low. Either you need to improve staff training or deal with disgruntled employees who receive yelling from unhappy customers. I feel highly sorry for your staff culture. I WANT my order or I WILL make sure i get my refund...

Improve by sorting out the issues between FNB eBucks and Superbalist. I have brought this to your attention a number of times and it gets nowhere. I would be a shopping more if it was not for having to use bank funds when I have R20 000 to spend on eBucks and Superbalist should be one of the stores where I should be able to spend eBucks. We regularly shop at Takealot, Tafelberg Furnishers, Cape Union Mart using eBucks and NO issues. Upon check-out with superbalist there is an option to pay with eBucks and I enter ID number and pin as required, within the Superbalist platform the eBucks balance shows after I add the login credentials and when I pay, Superbalist says invalid login credentials when the balance shows. We have taken it up with FNB as well but they say it's Superbalist, so it is a cat and mouse game. It makes it not attractive to shop on Superbalist. I had no choice with this order because my daughter needed the items, otherwise I chose convenience over annoyance of not being able to use our FNB eBucks.

I ordered 3 items - first one was refunded with no communication as to why and then in 21 December only received item arrived. Tried over 3 times to phone but was cut off due to high volume of calls. I didn’t want anything to do with the 1 item and logged return and advised why I was returning and no one bothered to ask what happened. I lodged written complaint and there was no response but I was expected to respond on Christmas and Boxing Day when I was spending time with my family. Who even does business like that! Now they want me to prove that I didn’t get the item by having taken a picture on the one item. If I was dishonest I could have removed the one item and taken a picture but I tried on several occasions to communicate my problem. I needed the items as Christmas gifts and I was further inconvenienced by having to go to busy malls to find presents. I resent what has happened because I shopped for my convenience and all that happened was a massive inconvenience to o me. If I could give no stars I would!

Don’t trust “next day delivery”

I needed a special evening outfit and some winter clothes for a conference, as I was flying out to -5 weather on Saturday night. Being summer I couldn’t find the right things in the malls so I went online to Superbalist. I specifically chose items that were in stock and qualified for “next day delivery”. I also paid the premium for next day delivery. The receipt of purchase stated delivery date would be the next day. When I checked the app around lunchtime the next day to see when my order would arrive, the date had moved to 5 days later! No message or update or notification was received. I rang the contact Centre and spoke to 3 different people throughout the day. Each promised to ring me back and never did, so I constantly had to repeat my story every few hours when I rang in for an update. The order arrived when I was already in the US, so I returned the entire order. No apology, and no refund of the premium I spent for “next day delivery”. Definitely last time I shop with Superbalist.

Really bad experience

One this particular occasion the service has been terrible, I placed an order without checking the unusually long delivery period and the package was heading to my office on the date - I wouldn’t be there - called literally 20 minutes after placing the order and was told this can’t be changed - maybe it’s time to look what what more functional online stores are able to do ? Long story short the order was attempted to be delivered after I called the courier team - long story short - firstly u couldn’t supply all the required items which was never relayed, then u cancelled my order, then I got a voucher code which didn’t work and I ended up having to replace the order which could then all of a sudden get delivered in 2 days at a much higher price - absolutely pathetic. Generally as a consumer I hardly return anything to you guys but after this experience- anything I’m not 1000% happy with for any reason will be returned. Online sales should be getting more efficient - not worse 🤷‍♂️

I received a dirty jumpsuit, and when I requested an exchange, I received an even worse one with a bad odor. Despite this, I decided to keep it and wash it before wearing it for a special occasion. However, I then received an email stating that the jumpsuit was not eligible for an exchange due to its dirty condition, which I received it in. I have sent numerous emails, but no one has bothered to respond. It is unacceptable for Superbalist to send dirty clothes to customers without proper quality checks. The exchanged jumpsuit did not even have a price tag and was poorly packed, just thrown into the box with a foul odor. It is essential to ensure the quality of products before shipping them to clients. My experience has shown me that you do not care about what you deliver to your customers. I am extremely dissatisfied with the service and the lack of communication regarding delivery delays. This is unacceptable."

Customer support didn't really address the issue I was contacting about.

I made an order that included a yoga mat that ended up not being in stock. Because I used my R400 first time shopping voucher, the sale prices were dropped. The yoga mat wasn't available, so I was sent the remaining items at a higher price than if I'd just bought them on sale and I've lost the R400 first time shopping voucher ability as well, as it is registered to my phone. This is a lose / lose for me on all fronts. All the feedback was around apologies on the yoga mat not being available and not on the fact that I'm now paying more for items than they are now listed for on the site. I was sent another voucher for some amount, but again, I have to now make another purchase, and lose any sales prices that you have, so unlikely that I'll do that. I would have preferred if they had just given me the items at the sale amount, and allowed me to use the R400 voucher again as a first time buyer.

This is the third time I have communicated this with no response from yourselves. I ordered a jacket from you for my husband pants arrived; I returned; he ordered on his account a jacket pants arrived. All your bar coding was incorrect. Jacket never materialised … so not sure how your system works or not. Also ordered a mango jersey from you; medium too big returned and ordered a small the small was bigger than the medium returned for refund received refund- quality of your merchandise has deteriorated from when we first started using superbalist … f its not you then your suppliers aren’t giving you there best quality or just trying to get rid of stock … it was very disappointing as the wool and colour was lovely … my sister in Canada buys me a voucher so I could order something I liked and superbalist was always my first choice. Now will no longer give her that option

Don’t be caught slacking

You guys are slacking. I’ve had good experience in the past but the last two… not so much. I’ve had to follow up to ask about delivery of my goods both times after the estimated date came and went without getting confirmation. Only then I received an ETA and a bite that one item was not available. On top of that delivery folks asked me to go and pick up my items at a police station which I declined to do as that was not part of my arrangement. I do understand that you’ve experienced car / items jacking in certain areas as with the case with My previous purchase which did not arrive because of the alleged car jacking but come on, let your customers no to use the pickup option- I know I would t mind collecting if I’m asked to but don’t expect us to suddenly have to go pick up items at locations that weren’t part of the initial agreement.

9days after return collected still have not been assisted.

I had an order that was delivered on 31 Nov 2023 and it was an empty box, with what I ordered not inside. I then called the customer care immediately after opening the package to advise what I should do as the app does not accommodate my issue. I was advised to log it under return as the exchange option was also not available for my order. On the first the package was collected and till today 9 Nov 2023,i still have not received any communication from Superbalist with regards to the return. I have sent several emails and I am not being assisted, instead I am asked to provide picture of a package that was collected 9 days ago. The app must accommodate every information that needs to be included to investigate the matter. If you want pictures and other things it must be requested when loging the return or exchange.

I ordered items and on 3 separate occasions, (1) my order was cancelled after having been confirmed (2) there were inconsistencies commuicated in terms of the order status (3) the cancelled items continued and still continue to be advertised as available despite 3 separate attempts to purchase these items (4) it has taken Superbalist more than 2 weeks to explain what happened. I still don't have an explanation of what actually happened (5) the refund process is tedious and takes long. It should be easier and clearer to indicate to the buyer if stick for an item is actually available. I see items I'd like to purchase on Superbalist but I'm scared I'll get disappointed again and have orders cancelled while Superbalist holds funds for more than a week and stops me from making alternative purchases.

Order Delivery Time

The order took almost a week to deliver. When I inquired about the status of the order a day before the original scheduled delivery date, I was told that it would unfortunately take a few extra days which was fine at that point. As I needed the items urgently I had to make alternative plans to source these. Then suddenly the next day I get a message saying my order is out for delivery and it then proceeded to arrive that afternoon. I had made plans at this point so it wasn’t possible to still pick these up. So while I understand that sometimes things take longer to deliver, it was a bit of an inconvenience being told it would only come 2-3 days later and then it actually does arrive as originally scheduled and then I had to go and spend additional money to get the items for my event.

Your driver's lack of communication about when he planned to arrive was not good as we had no way of ensuring there would be anyone there to receive the package. He first arrived and attempted to deliver without prior notice 3 days before we were expecting the delivery and continued to try and deliver throughout the morning even though we had told him we were not there when he called us from the gate to say he could not get in. The next time he tried to deliver a few days later, he came before 7am, again without prior notice so there was no-one there to accept the delivery. Had he just phoned or notified us by SMS prior to simply arriving at our gate, he could have saved everyone time, concern about the delivery itself and the costs he incurred for himself coming by multiple times.
