The cardboard box should have sort of root retainer inside to prevent football moving so the young trees don't fly around during (wrong)transport. That would prevent the young shoots from getting damaged. The sticker on the box is clever but during handling thousands such boxes a day in a big mailcenter it will still happen that one gets upside down and break all fragile shoots...
I got a delivery with a badly damaged tree and I get a replacement free of charge, no questions asked. That's customer care as it should be...
I only gave Garden4you one star because I had to to in order to be able to write a review. They do NOT deserve even one star. I ordered 4 x Liriodendron tulipifera trees with the intention of growing 4 x beautiful park trees. I got 4 x rubbish trees, not in any way straight or upright; all with their leaders cut off and all in a hugely potbound condition with completely contorted roots. Despite several amicable but fruitless emails Garden4you are refusing to suitably address the situation they have created. I can return the rubbish to them but at my personal cost which they will not refund and as the return cost is not disimilar to my original payment this is a pointless exercise. I will never buy from them again and I certainly woul;d never ever recommends them to anybody else. This could have been so nice an experience all round and wasn't.
My order arrived damaged. I paid for a 2 stem orchid and one stem was snapped off. They offered me a 20% discount. On half an orchid which was for a gift. Also delivery cost was ridiculously high. I do not recommend this company. Only one star for customer service quick reply.

Incomplete delivery and poor plants
Only a small portion of the order arrived and of that a number of the plants were in very poor condition probably because they didn’t arrive until a week after they shipped. Would not use again

Avoid
I spent over €130 purchasing a range of plants, I knew that they would be small but what I received were absolutely tiny . I ordered 2 hydrangeas and both were small twigs with a couple of tiny leaves for €7.95 each, I could have purchased a fully grown plant locally for €20.
I was really shocked by the minuscule size of everything and I would imagine that if they survive it will take years for these to flower. My camellia was not much better.
On the sheet that was sent to me after my order was processed it says that several of the bulbs/ roots I bought are highly toxic but there was nothing about this on the write ups before I bought them………not ideal with small children and pets. I had read negative reviews but because some were positive I thought I would chance it myself-BIG MISTAKE

We apologize for any disappointment caused by the size of the plants you received. As a nursery specializing in outdoor cultivation, we do not sell plants from heated greenhouses, unlike many garden centers. Our plants are sold based on their size and the descriptions provided on our website, with photos depicting mature plants typically photographed during winter.
We ship to 22 countries in Europe, and as our websites are self-service platforms, it's important for customers to carefully read the descriptions of bulbs. We always note in the description if bulb or root products are toxic. It's possible you may have missed this information during your purchase.
We understand your concerns regarding the size and potential toxicity of the plants. We strive to ensure transparency and customer satisfaction, and we apologize if this information was not clear to you before your purchase. If you have any further questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us. We value your feedback and aim to address any issues you may have experienced.

Plants were in poor condition on arrival, especially my lavenders, looks like the box was upside-down a few times during the transport..
Snowball has some sort of disease, black spots on a few leaves on arrival but all leaves now... Sambucos - ordered 3 and 1 was a decent size, one smaller but acceptable, the 3rd one about 1/3 of the size of the biggest... In future I will go to my local garden centre and pay a bit more but at least I can see what I am buying and there plants are always in top condition!

I bought a shrub rose, in a large pot, expecting a reasonably sized plant .
The rise is small, it was obviously a bare root stuffed into a bigger pot, as the compost in the pit bore no resemblance to that around the rose roots.
I wrote to them and they committed to replying within 24 working hours.
That has well passed and I've heard nothing.
Their delivery cost is at the top of the range and it's not fast either.
I feel I have been sold a bum steer.

Disappointed fungus and dead leaves
Very disappointed with the plants I received. They were packed badly. 14 plants packed into a small box. Which broke two branches on two plants. Dead leaves on three of the plants and 8 of the plants had a fungus. Even DPD delivery couldn't get it right. There are arrows on the box as to what way the box should be standing . I got it at my gate on it's side. Overall very disappointed. Will not purchase from there again

Diseased plants received
I ordered 16 plants from Gardens4You.ie in July. 6 of the plants arrived with browning of the leaves which I naively put down to the 7 day delivery time. Since then the plants got progressively worse & died. I complained to Gardens4You.ie as the plants had obviously arrived with an invasive disease. Their customer service said they couldn't do anything about it. This is very poor customer service.

We regret to inform you that your recent comments have been noted for their inaccuracy and potential harm to our company's reputation. It has come to our attention that you persist in disseminating misleading information about your order, which, we would like to remind you, is covered by a 2-month guarantee.
Your order for the conifers was placed in July 2023, and up until last week (December), our customer service had not received any reports of sick plants or delivery issues related to your order. It is crucial to highlight that the conifers were planted in exceptionally hot weather (July) and in unsuitable soil, possibly coupled with the use of fertilizer, which may have resulted in the roots being adversely affected.
Contrary to your claims, we have maintained records of your emails explicitly requesting a replacement, which strikes us as peculiar for a customer expressing dissatisfaction with allegedly diseased plants.
We would appreciate your cooperation in rectifying the dissemination of false information on various platforms. Your opinion and comments will be duly reported to trusted shops.

Confusing. I still don't know what have I bought!
I've bought this as on the web site its having "Tarragon Artemisia Dracunculus). The package is confusing. It saying Russian tarragon but the latin name is for French tarragon. Russian tarragon (Artemisia dracunculoides) is very closely related to French tarragon (Artemisia Dracunculus) but has no flavor. The Russian species is larger, coarser, and has no culinary merit.

We can see on our website that you have ordered item A06427, which is Russian Tarragon. The leaves can be used fresh or dried for salads, pickles, vinegar, and soups. It can also be used with chicken and fish dishes, all of which are part of the description on our website.

If I could give zero stars, I would. Issues with delivery resulted in an exchange with very rude and unaccommodating agent. Dead plants arrived. No refund or adjustment much less apology. Do not waste your money or take a chance. They are not based in Ireland and there are so many more reputable companies selling healthy plants.

The plants delivered did not match what I ordered. I think thus may have been intended because when I pointed out the error they gave a partial refund saying the items I ordered were no longer available. It took five or six days and two emails to get a reply. No pickup on their phone.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused by the discrepancy between the plants you received and the ones you ordered. Our delay in responding to your inquiry was due to difficulty in discerning the product labels from the photos you provided, which necessitated clarification. We regret any frustration this may have caused.
Regarding the partial refund, we indeed issued a reimbursement of €11.80 for the product that was out of stock and therefore unavailable. While we strive to ensure accuracy in fulfilling orders, occasional discrepancies may occur, and we appreciate your understanding in such instances.

2 weeks ago I bought flowers from you, 2 small ones are ok, but the large one for 40 euros started to fall after 2 days, the shoots have no roots, it's as if someone just stuck them in the ground, I'm disappointed because this particular flower does not require any special treatment

The plants that I ordered looked nothing like what website shows. Basically, recieved 2 stick with a few leaves. Very very disappointing!!! You need to show what the plants look like instead of the mature version. Will not be ordering from your company again.

Our website, like all other plant websites in Europe, always showcases a mature version of the product you are purchasing, whether it's perennial plants, shrubs, or trees. When you select a product, its description includes information about its size and the diameter of its pot. Our plants are nursery-grown, cultivated outdoors year-round. Between September and February, the plants go into senescence and cease active growth that's why we offer a longer shelf life for plants purchased between september and February with complete transparency for over 30 years.

I was disappointed with the two tiny 5 inch plants I received. The box was enormous. Also, I did think I was ordering from an Irish website, I would have ordered from a local website had I known my order was coming from abroad. Local delivery is about 6 euro.

All our plants are nursery plants cultivated outdoor all year around. We has the last week -6ºC and -10ºC at night and hardy winds.
During the winter period, Mahonia media 'Winter Sun' may exhibit some staining or discoloration on its leaves, and this is considered normal you should not be worry. There are a few reasons why this can occur:
Mahonia media 'Winter Sun' is a hardy evergreen shrub, but exposure to cold winter temperatures can still cause stress. The cold weather can lead to desiccation (drying out) of the leaves and result in discoloration.
In winter, the sunlight levels are generally lower, and plants may not photosynthesize as actively. This reduced photosynthesis can lead to changes in leaf color.
As with many evergreen plants, Mahonia leaves have a lifespan, and older leaves may naturally start to show signs of aging, including discoloration.
Other environmental factors, such as wind exposure or fluctuations in temperature, can contribute to leaf discoloration.
The discoloration is limited to a few leaves and the overall health of the plant appears good, it is likely just a natural response to winter conditions. However, once planted if you observe widespread discoloration or if the plant's health is a concern, just come back to us because the plant is fully guaranteed until May 1, 2024.

As we have mentioned in our numerous emails, the Persimmon Diospyros Kaki you received is completely normal for the season and had absolutely nothing to do with being placed on the tiling in your house at room temperature. Our plants are cultivated outdoors in nurseries and deserve better than that. The persimmon should have been planted long ago, as stated in our growth guarantee. You are well aware that persimmons do not have leaves or buds in winter, as you ordered it in mid-January when there was frost and snow in the following days, which we regret particularly. You also know that Persimmon Diospyros have few roots and this did not prevent the plant from growing, on the contrary. We have attempted in vain to assist you and respond to you in a professional manner. You refused our proposition to return the plant in order to obtain a full refund. Unfortunately, your comment demonstrates a lack of listening on your part and a willingness to harm our business, which we deeply regret.
